Abstract
This study is the effect of reward and punishment on employee motivation at PT.
Suzuki Arista Sukses Abadi Kota Binjai. The problem in this study is that many
employees violate the rules set by the company. This study aims to find the effect
of reward and punishment on employee motivation at PT. Suzuki Arista Sukses
Abadi Kota Binjai. Furthermore, the data obtained from distributing
questionnaires or questionnaires from 65 respondents. The model used is Multiple
Line Regression and processed using SPSS version 22.0. The results of the
analysis using the t test show that one independent variable is known that two
independent variables, namely reward (X1) and punishment (X2) have a positive
and partially significant effect on the dependent variable, namely work motivation
(Y). Then the results of the analysis using the F test can be seen that the two
independent variables, namely reward (X1) and punishment (X2) together have a
positive and significant effect on the dependent variable, namely work motivation
(Y). The results of the analysis using the coefficient of determination show that
55.8% of work motivation can be obtained and explained by reward and
punishment. While the remaining 44.2% is explained by other variables not
included in this study.
