Abstract
This study aims to determine the Test of Coconut Water POC and Cow Manure Fertilizer on the Growth and Production of Sweet Corn ( Zea mays L. Saccharata). The demand for sweet corn continues to increase along with the increase in the human population, while agricultural land is decreasing due to land conversion. Thus, the solution to meet the demand for sweet corn is to increase productivity by applying and developing organic agriculture as a sustainable farming system. This research method uses a factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) which consists of 2 factors with 16 treatment combinations and 3 replications. water/plot (Control), A1 = 200 ml/L water/plot (1666.67 L/ha), A2 = 400 ml/L water/plot (3333.33 L/ha), and A3 = 600 ml/L water/plot (5000 L/ha). The second factor is cow manure (K) consisting of 4 levels, namely K0 = 0 kg/plot (Control), K1 = 2.4 kg/plot (20 tons/ha), K2 = 4.8 kg/plot (40 tons /ha), and K3 = 7.2 kg/plot (60 tons/ha). The parameters in this study were plant height (cm) (4, 6, and 8 WAP), stem diameter (mm) (4, 6, and 8 WAP), leaf area (cm2) (4, 6, and 8 WAP), weight of cobs per sample (grams), weight of cobs per plot (grams), length of corn cobs (cm), diameter of corn cobs (mm), number of rows on the cob, and sugar content of sweet corn (Brix). The results showed that the treatment of cow dung fertilizer had a very significant effect on the parameters of plant height (cm) and stem diameter (mm), but had no significant effect on leaf area (cm2), weight of cobs per sample (grams), weight of cobs per plot (grams). ), the length of the ear (cm), the diameter of the ear (mm), the number of rows, and the sugar content (brix). POC treatment Coconut water had no significant effect on all observed parameters. And the interaction of cow dung fertilizer and coconut water POC gave no significant effect on all parameters. Sweet corn plant growth in the v`egetative phase is influenced by the availability of nutrients in the soil, especially nitrogen (N). In this study, the availability of N elements in addition to sourced from the soil is also assisted by the provision of cow dung fertilizer.
