Abstract

This study aims to determine the combination of giving liquid organic fertilizer banana peel waste and cow dung fertilizer on the growth and production of sweet corn (Zea mays L. Saccharata). The problem that occurs in Indonesia is the increasing number of Indonesian people's demand for sweet corn, while the amount of corn production in Indonesia is still low and has not been able to meet public demand. So that Indonesia imports sweet corn to meet the demands of the Indonesian people. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to increase the amount of sweet corn production by using organic fertilizers as nutrients. This research method used a factorial randomized block design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 16 treatment combinations and 3 replications. L water/plot (Control), P1 = 160 ml/L water/plot (1,333 L/ha), P2 = 320 ml/L water/plot (2,666 L/ha), and P3 = 480 ml/L water/plot (4000 L/ha). The second factor is cow manure (K) consisting of 4 levels, namely K0 = 0 kg/plot (control), K1 = 1.2 kg/plot (10 tons/ha), K2 = 2.4 kg/plot (20 tons /ha), K3 = 3.6 kg/plot (30 tons/ha). Parameters in this study were plant height (cm) (4, 6, and 8 WAP), stem diameter (mm) (4, 6, and 8 WAP), leaf area (cm2) (4, 6, and 8 WAP), weight of cobs per sample (grams), weight of cobs per plot (grams), length of corn cobs (cm), diameter of corn cobs (mm), number of rows on the cob, and sugar content of sweet corn (Brix). The results showed that the treatment of cow dung fertilizer had a very significant effect on the parameters of plant height (cm), weight of cobs per sample (grams), and weight of cobs per plot (grams). And no significant effect on stem diameter (mm), leaf area (cm2), ear length (cm), ear diameter (mm), and number of rows, and sugar content (brix). liquid organic fertilizer treatment of banana peel waste had a very significant effect on the weight parameters of the cobs per sample (grams). And had no significant effect on plant height (cm), stem diameter (mm), leaf area (cm2), weight of ear per plot (grams), length of ear (cm), diameter of ear (mm), and number of rows, and sugar content. (brix) The interaction of cow dung fertilizer and liquid organic fertilizer banana peel waste had no significant effect on all parameters. It can be concluded that the treatment of cow dung fertilizer showed a very significant effect on plant height (cm) 8 WAP, weight of cobs per sample (grams), and weight of cobs per plot (grams), but had no significant effect on other parameters. The treatment of giving liquid organic fertilizer banana peel waste had a very significant effect on the weight of the cobs per sample (grams), but had no significant effect on other parameters. The combination treatment of cow dung fertilizer and liquid organic fertilizer banana peel waste did not have a significant effect on all observation parameters.
