Abstract

This study aims to determine the response of POC Application of Vegetable Waste and Goat Manure Fertilizer to the Growth and Production of Sweet Corn (Zea mays L. Saccharata). The problem that occurs in Indonesia is the increasing public demand for sweet corn, while the amount of sweet corn production in Indonesia is still low. Therefore, efforts are needed to increase the amount of sweet corn production by improving corn cultivation techniques, using superior varieties of sweet corn seeds, providing balanced fertilizers, eradicating pests and diseases, as well as carrying out good and correct post-harvest processing. This research method uses a factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) consisting of 2 factors with 16 treatment combinations and 3 replications. The factors studied were the first factors in the POC treatment of Vegetable Waste (P) consisting of 4 levels, namely P0 = 0 ml/plot/liter of water (Control), P1 = 60 ml/plot/liter of water (500 liters/ha), P2 = 120 ml/plot/liter of water (1,000 liters/ha), and P3 = 180 ml/plot/liter of water (1,500 liters/ha). The second factor is goat manure (K) consisting of 4 levels, namely K0 = 0 kg/plot (Control), K1 = 1.08 kg/plot (9 tons/ha), K2 = 2.16 kg/plot (18 tons/plot) ha), and K3 = 3.24 kg/plot (27 tons/ha). The parameters in this study were plant height (cm) (4, 6, and 8 WAP), stem diameter (mm) (4, 6, and 8 WAP), leaf area (cm2) (4, 6, and 8 WAP), weight of cobs per sample (grams), weight of cobs per plot (grams), length of corn cobs (cm), diameter of corn cobs (mm), number of rows on the cob, and sugar content of sweet corn (Brix). The results of this study showed that the treatment of Goat Manure Fertilizer, Vegetable Waste POC, and the interaction between the two gave no significant effect on the parameters of plant height (cm), stem diameter (mm), leaf area (cm2), weight of cobs per sample (grams), cob weight per plot (grams), cob length (cm), cob diameter (mm), number of rows of seeds on the cob, and sugar content in sweet corn kernels (Brix).
