Abstract

This research aims to test and find out more clearly how the analysis of job
satisfaction, work motivation and employee commitment affects the performance of
Medan City Population and Civil Registration Service employees. This research uses
quantitative methods involving 64 respondents. Data collection was carried out
using questionnaires. The data obtained were analyzed using statistical formulas,
namely by using multiple regression analysis which was processed using the SPSS
Version 16 program. The results of the quantitative analysis showed that the job
satisfaction variable showed a tcount value of 5.522 > ttable of 1.673 with a
significant value of 0.000 < 0.05, then the hypothesis H1 is accepted and H0 is
rejected, meaning that job satisfaction has a partially positive and significant effect
on the performance of Medan City Population and Civil Registration Service
employees. The test results for the work motivation variable show a tcount value of
2.221 > ttable of 1.673 with a significant value of 0.030 <0.05, so hypothesis H2 is
accepted and H0 is rejected, meaning that work motivation has a partially positive
and significant effect on the performance of Population and Registration Service
employees Medan City Civil. The test results for the work commitment variable show
a tcount value of 0.671 < ttable of 1.673 with a significant value of 0.505 > 0.05, so
hypothesis H3 is rejected and H0 is accepted, meaning that work commitment has no
partially significant effect on the performance of City Population and Civil
Registration Service employees Medan. Job satisfaction, work motivation and work
commitment simultaneously have a significant effect on the performance of Medan
City Population and Civil Registration Service employees with a Fcount value of
30.26 > Ftable of 2.77 and a significant 0.000 < 0.05. The resulting adjusted R
Square value is 0.582 which indicates that 58.2% of employee performance can be
obtained and explained by job satisfaction, work motivation and work commitment
while the remaining 41.8% can be explained by other factors not discussed such as
ability, discipline , work environment and other factors that can influence employee
performance.
