Abstract

ABSTRACT

ANALYSIS OF THE USE OF NEUTRAL GROUNDING RESISTANCE ON POWER TRANSFORMERS
Musthopa Husein*
The power transformer consists of primary and secondary and tertiary circuits (if used). Inside the power transformer has a certain circuit according to needs, such as a 150 kV / 20Kv step down power transformer, where the primary circuit is delta and the secondary circuit is a star, for that in the secondary circuit there is a neutral and in this neutral part it is connected to Neutral Grounding The resistance (NGR) or the neutral of the power transformer is connected in series with the ngr after that it is connected to the ground. The use of ngr in power transformers is to control the amount of fault current from the neutral side of the transformer to the ground or to reduce / limit the neutral fault current of the ground transformer, thus the use of this NGR can also be used to prevent damage to power transformers and other systems. Keywords: Power Transformer, Neutral Grounding Resistance (NGR).
