Abstract

ABSTRACT

Renewable energy is energy that comes from nature and is unlimited in number. In addition, in its use, renewable energy is very friendly to the environment. There are several types of renewable energy that can be converted into electrical energy, namely water, wind, sunlight, biomass. In this study, renewable energy is converted as fuel for a simple scale Steam Power Plant.This study aims to design a Steam Power Plant by utilizing coffee production waste which is converted into charcoal briquettes as fuel biomass.This research method uses literature methods, tool design, and data collection.The results of this study indicate that the Steam Power Plant with charcoal fuel from briquette waste from the production of coffee husks can produce 2.86 volts and 0.04 amps with a resistance of 750 ohms at 5 minutes of combustion, and produce 2.76 volts and 0 of power. 02 amperes with a resistance of 1000 ohms at a burning time of 7 minutes.The conclusion of this research is the amount of briquette charcoal affects the combustion of the boiler to produce steam. The power generated at each time varies the longer the combustion time, the more steam is collected to turn the turbine.
